COVER

「マスク依存症」という言葉があります。風邪や花粉症、またはそれらの予防の為にマスクを着用するという本来のマスクの使用方法とは異なり、「安心する」という理由でマスクを着用し、手放せなくなる現象のことです。自信のない自分に覆いを被せて、他者とのコニュニケーションに距離をおきたい、という心理が働いているようです。それは自分を守るための行為としてのカバー
です。しかし、覆うという行為にはもう一つの作用があります。それは、他者から自分自身と認知されない、特定されないことによって理性が緩み普段は心の奥に抑圧されている部分が露呈するという現象が起こりやすくなるということです。
「自分自身を隠し、心理的な安寧を得る為のお守りのような存在」としてのカバー。そしてもう一つは「本来の自分自身の中にある本性をさらけ出すための存在」としてのカバー。これらのカバーは人それぞれ全然違うかたちをしているはずです。覆うという行為によって顕在化される、人の中にあるアンビバレンスをテーマにCOVERシリーズを制作しています。

original use of the mask.It seems to be due to the psychology of covering oneself without self-confid ence and keeping a distance from others.It is a "cover" as an act of protecting oneself.However, the act of "cover" has another effect.Which, by the weakness of reason by not being recognized by others as myself,is liable to occur the phenomenon of exposing the oppressed part of the mind.

COVER as "the existence to hide oneself and obtain psychological peace". And the other is the COVER as"existence for exposing the true nature in the original self". These covers should look different from person to person.I created the COVER series with the theme of ambivalence in humans, which is revealed by the act of covering.
